About the position

The RISE Sub-Scale Rig Mechanical Design and Test Engineer at GE Aerospace is responsible for contributing to the design and development of advanced mechanical systems, particularly focusing on the RISE Open Fan and Ducted Programs. This role involves designing and procuring airfoil hardware for sub-scale rig tests and supporting other airfoil testing needs. The position offers opportunities for professional growth and leadership within the mechanical design field, emphasizing innovation and collaboration within a diverse engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and use prior experience to execute policy/strategy.
  • Understand key business drivers and how the work of the team integrates with other teams.
  • Propose different solutions outside of set parameters with guidance and solve straightforward tasks using technical skills and analytic thinking.
  • Provide informal guidance to new team members and prepare/participate in invention disclosures to protect technology.
  • Provide technical guidance and clear direction to new engineers, specialists, technicians, and co-ops/interns as needed.

Requirements
