Director, E-Commerce id-20673

About the position

The Director, eCommerce is responsible for the User Experience of the site as well as the coordination of content and storytelling that supports brand big ideas and seasonal initiatives. This is a hybrid role for an entrepreneur who is equally creative & has a good grasp on technology and is excited and inspired to create a beautiful and easy shopping experience. You are expected to continue to innovate and evolve brand assets and storytelling past our competitors as well as research our competitor's marketing strategies and technology to help build new customer acquisition.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development of the brand's awareness and messaging as well as the shopping experience.
  • Partner with a small cross-functional team to merchandise and execute our brand storytelling and content strategy.
  • Provide insightful data, sales, and sales forecasts to guide decision making and offer proactive solutions.
  • Solve problems and get to the root cause of any issue, no matter how complex, and quickly implement solutions.
  • Ensure we have the most compelling & brand building homepage.
  • Create the simplest and most informative shopping experience to help grow our sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a related field (an equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered).
  • Proven ability to drive operational excellence including identifying and implementing efficient processes.
  • Ability to work well with, and influence, cross-functional partners such as merchants, Ecommerce, and digital creative teams.
  • 7+ years of related experience.
  • Omni-channel experience.
  • DTC experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Deep understanding of numerous networking protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VRRP, DNS, DHCP, proxy functions (forward and reverse), security protocols (IPSec, SSL, etc.), real-time protocols for voice (Skinny, SIP, H.323, MGCP), in addition to WAN communications protocols including MPLS, DWDM, OC carrier, BRI/PRI.
  • Familiarization with cloud/storage services.
  • Basic scripting skills in Python, Perl, iRules, TCL, Chef/Puppet or Go a plus.
