Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze health benefit plan characteristics and assess risks associated with loss of clients, considering factors like frequency and potential severity.
  • Utilize established underwriting criteria and policies to provide accurate rating methodologies that balance cost competitiveness with client needs.
  • Represent and negotiate rates and plan options with insurers to optimize health benefit plans that meet our high standards.
  • Apply appropriate rating methods (e.g., manual, experience-based, or expense rates) in accordance with set guidelines and assessed risk (e.g., medical conditions, demographic characteristics) to determine final pricing.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience in the healthcare industry underwriting or managing financials for a defined book of business across various products (PPO, HMO, Stop Loss, Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, Ancillary, Self-Funded, ASO/Fully-Insured for group or individual clients).
  • 1+ years of experience with risk management.
  • Demonstrated intermediate-level proficiency with MS Office suite (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
